A Word of the Year is quite simply a focus point for you, for your coming year. It is there to support you, or challenge you, in the months ahead. You might also think of it as an Energy of the Year.
Have you got that core strength? I mean that deep, deep knowledge that, whatever you say, whoever hears you (or doesn’t), you’re totally ok.

This morning I was reflecting simply on my journey during lockdown, at the start of which I was unclear on my direction and trembled in front of a room of people. Suddenly I see that it is possible to take more small steps forward.

Covey’s 7 Habits book many years ago; applying it at the time to the very discrete areas of ‘work’ and ‘home’ – it’s been a lightbulb moment to realise how much this simple technique can support me now that work and home are inextricably linked…
